Second Life
I finally managed to get into Second Life. My avatar is Samira Quintessa. It took me about 30 minutes or so to do the tutorial and figure out how to get to ISTE Island (the home of the International Society of Technology in Education in Second Life). It's a lot like moving around in a video game. Lots to distract you. I'm planning to go back and see if I can attend some of the NECC (National Educational Computing Conference) sessions in Second Life next week.

Any thoughts on whether this would be ok for students or whether it would be best for professional development-type stuff? The JHE article was talking about a "Teen Grid" or something, but I know there's some hairy stuff out there.
